You can’t go wrong with a tune that kicks off with some naughty language, and that’s exactly the case with Liberate Me, a high-octane knockout with an active rhythm and a gritty punky edge that charges full force nonstop, and we get more of the same cracking qualities in I Don’t Wanna Talk About It, including fun guitar work, good singing and a catchy chorus.
Sugar enters with some tempting bass chords, subsequently joined by a great beat and teaming together to generate a slick pulse while the lyrics make their mark, and the writing continues to entertain in the infectiously swinging swansong, Loud Love.
The Edinburgh lads killed it with their debut EP earlier in the year, and just mere months later they have delivered a double whammy and smashed it again with this excellent result. Trust me when I say that Fawkes are definitely ones to watch in the Scottish scene in 2023.
