The word on the streets is that Guildford alternative rockers Icarus Dive are a band that everybody must be checking out, and if you get the opportunity to listen to their latest EP – Among The Thorns – then you’ll find that an easy sentiment to agree with.
The most notable element of the record is the sound, which is not only large, but is also very diverse and always mixing it up – clearly taking influence from a broad variety of acts such as Muse, System Of A Down, and even Queen – and because of that, it keeps the assortment of tracks fresh and all the more engaging.
Performance-wise, the members deliver in their own right, with great vocals, tight riff work and catchy rhythms being dished out throughout.
Overall, the four have given us a jam-packed, stimulating collection of banging tunes with plenty of replay value to them.
