Continuing the trend of spotlighting Scotland’s many talented solo artists, we have Glasgow musician Nick Scroggie, who last month released his debut single, The Missing Part.

What we get here is a terrific track with a smooth, inviting melody that starts quiet but lets loose during the entertaining chorus which features captivating lyrics that easily get stuck in the head. In addition to that, the vocal harmonies are fantastic and the acoustic work is great.

On the whole, Nick has made a fine first impression with this very enjoyable tune. There’s a new kid on the block, and he’s made it clear that his skillful musicianship can’t afford to go unnoticed.
