REVIEW | White Clouds & Gunfire: For All The Non Believers

If you’re seeking the UK’s best in pop rock music, then I have to say that White Clouds & Gunfire easily belong in that category, and that’s clearly evident from their 2013 debut album, For All The Non Believers.

Kicking off with a lovely little piano piece, Bruised Not Broken is a solid opening tune that warms up things nicely, with Same Old Town following suit and bringing more of the same, in addition to a fun chorus.

But things truly pick up big time with You Can’t Bring Me Down, which is a fantastic upbeat and fast-paced tune with an unforgettable chorus. It’s also here where Evey demonstrates the mighty power and pitch her vocals possess. Topped off with really good guitar work, this is unquestionably the highlight of the record for me.

Up next is Poison which is another incredible tune with a big sound and featuring somewhat of a more serious tone to it. The chorus is amazing and there’s some notably quality bass and drum work to be had. Pebbles and Dreams are a pair of bouncy, energetic tracks, which are partitioned at either end of the slower but wonderful Reflections which features some sweet acoustic guitar and memorable lyrics, particularly in the chorus.

It soon all comes to a head with the final track Since You Were Gone, an absolutely fantastic and well-written tune brought to life through an incredibly impassioned performance from the whole band, winding up the record on a mighty high note.

For All The Non Believers, on the whole, is an outstanding album from start to finish, chock full of fantastic tunes bursting at the seams with energy and passion. It’s a record I have relished and replayed countless times ever since it’s release, and it surely certifies that the band are among the elite in British pop rock. If you’re a fan of the genre and yet to have discovered White Clouds & Gunfire, then it’s time for you to jump onto the #TeamGun bandwagon now and see what you’ve been missing.
